I noticed you mention the ATI/Compiz bug but not the nVidia/Compiz bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell/+bug/160264) with workaround (https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell/+bug/160264/comments/61). This workaround fixes the problem for me and many others. Hopefully it’ll be rolled into a new release soon.

My main box is on repairs, so I did not add the -proposed repos to this one. There have been issues with packages from -proposed in the past (but it is what they are designed for, testing packages before they hit the main repos).
